Your Cool Wood furniture is created using natural materials that do require some care so as to maintain its appearance and to continue to enhance the uniqueness and natural beauty of each piece.

To keep your furniture looking it's best we recommend you follow a few simple steps.

For all our pine furniture we use a natural bees wax finish, so it is important not to use a silicone based polishing or cleaning product as this can react with the wax and effect the appearance of your furniture.

Regular waxing will provide both continued protection and retain the appearance of your furniture. We suggest using a clear wax about every 6-12 months, this both cleans and nourishes the wood but will not alter the colour. We would recommend using a coloured wax every 12 months or so to enrich the colour of your furniture.

Use a lint free cloth to apply the wax in a circular motion, then finish off by following the grain, removing any excess wax. Leave to dry for 1 hour and then using a clean and dry lint free cloth buff to reach your desired shine.

For our oak furniture you can use a clear bees wax, this will provide a certain degree of stain resistance. For spills wipe the excess liquid off immediately and wipe the area clean using a clean dry cloth. If any staining has occurred use a very fine sandpaper to sand out the mark and the apply a coat of the clear bees wax to the area.

Where possible keep your furniture out of direct constant sunlight and not directly against a heat source (eg radiators).
